Digitization Lab Assistant

Department: Digital Production Group
Starting Pay: $12/hour
Available Hours: M-F, 8:30am-5:00pm

JOB DESCRIPTION :

Perform a variety of tasks to support the operation of the library's digital scanning facilities. Primary tasks will include data entry, scanning and image quality control. The assistant will scan documents, review digital images for pagination and quality, correct the structural analysis of scanned documents using specialized software, and perform minor image correction tasks such as crop, rotate, and blank page deletion. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Maturity, a professional attitude, and attentiveness to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating system. Comfort operating sophisticated scanning equipment. Experience working with digital imaging software, such as Adobe Photoshop, a plus. Ability to communicate well in verbal and written English.

Preferred: Willingness to commit to work this position for at least 2 academic quarters, and a minimum of 8 hours per week.
