The Chair: Eleven Original Designs from Stanford Students
The course ARTSTUDI 262: The Chair affords advanced art and design students an opportunity to hone and refine their design and fabrication skills by focusing in depth on the creation of a single highly refined chair. The process is informed by exploration of the rich history of chair design, investigation of materials and construction techniques, and the writing of a design manifesto to develop a point of view. The uniqueness of those points of view is clearly manifest in the wide variety of chairs on display in this exhibition.
