Join us for an evening of thought-provoking discussion as Ge Wang presents his book, Artful Design: Technology in Search of the Sublime (release date: September 11, 2018 from Stanford University Press). Signed copies will be available for sale.
Special Collections’ Rare Book Cataloging Unit has just wrapped up the cataloging of a large collection of Edwardian novels (British novels published between 1890-1920). The books are now in the process of being digitized, after which they will be available for study both online and in person in the Special Collections reading room.
This week the Preservation department welcomes our new staff member, Annie Matthys, to the position of Preservation Specialist. In her new position, Annie will handle preventive preservation tasks, including environmental monitoring, pest management, preservation education and maintenance of the collection emergency response plan, as well as department projects. She will be a primary point of contact for collection preservation issues.
Our small library community in Redwood City is saying goodbye to another colleague.

New on the Shelf exhibition features rare books & contemporary artists’ books
A new exhibition in Stanford’s Green Library offers a window into recent acquisitions in Special Collections. Books—both manuscript and print—are the focus of the display on the second floor of the Bing Wing, on view September 4, 2018 through January 6, 2019.
Under a program established by The Stanford University Department of Public Safety, Public Access Stations (medical and trauma kits) have been installed at 35 locations across the Stanford Campus, one of which has been installed at Green Library at the Circulation and Privileges Desk, first floor.
