Freya Channing

We are sorry to say goodbye this week to Freya Channing, our Rare Books Copy Cataloger. She will be starting a new position at Oakland Public Library in September.

Freya has been with Special Collections since 2015. She first worked as the Processing Assistant on the Helen & Newton Harrison Papers before transitioning to the Rare Books Copy Cataloger position in 2016. She has enjoyed working on the variety of material in Special Collections, including the Collection of British Novels circa 1890-1920, and artists’ books in the Gunst Collection. We have benefitted from her photography skills in digitizing the Jenny Lind paper dolls, and her Spotlight exhibit expertise on both the Harrison exhibit and the upcoming Beautiful Books exhibit.

Freya will be sorely missed, but we wish her all the best!
