Update on SUL digital signage

iPad at Engineering Library

Oalla digital signage continues to innovate within the Stanford University Libraries.  Since Ronnie Fields of the Stanford Green Library last posted on the topic, the Stanford Terman Engineering Library has been testing new Oalla apps created specifically for use with iPads, Android tablets and large touch screen monitors.

Android tablet at Engineering LibraryiPad and Android tablets are well suited for circulation desk signage by including options for quick web access.  Early testing included an event slide loop, kiosk lockdown methods for restricting users to course reserve and library policy lookups, and touch analytics to track usage patterns.  A touchscreen book voting app was also created for our Dell 27” rolling touch monitor located near the library entrance.  These touch-enabled devices have expanded the use case of Oalla, while improving upon the interactivity options and engagement factor of our digital signage system.  See below for a list of accessories needed to set up desktop and touch signage in your library.Rolling touch screen at Engineering Library
