The East Asia Library has recently purchased several important database collections of Western-language historical materials that are now available for Stanford users to access. These databases include documents digitized from collections held at the British Library, the Second Historical Archives of China, and a number of other libraries and archives.

The National Geospatial Advisory Committee (NGAC) held its fall meeting September 5-6, 2018 at the National Conservation Training Center, Shepherdstown, West Virginia. The NGAC is a Federal Advisory Committee to the Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC). The role of the NGAC is to provide advice and recommendations related to the national geospatial program and the development of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure. New exhibition at East Asia Library - Hand and Eye: Contemporary Reflections of East Asian Ceramic Traditions
In collaboration with the Center for East Asian Studies, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary at Stanford, the East Asia Library is hosting an exhibition of contemporary ceramics entitled "Hand and Eye: Contemporary Reflections of East Asian Ceramic Traditions."
The Spotlight at Stanford service team is pleased to announce the publication of Exhibits Documentation, a new exhibit and guide to building Spotlight at Stanford exhibits. This "exhibit on exhibits" provides documentation and examples, alongside descriptions for how to create feature, browse, and about pages -- all on the Reference tab.
