This week the Preservation department welcomes our new staff member, Annie Matthys, to the position of Preservation Specialist. In her new position, Annie will handle preventive preservation tasks, including environmental monitoring, pest management, preservation education and maintenance of the collection emergency response plan, as well as department projects. She will be a primary point of contact for collection preservation issues.

Annie brings a strong background in library outreach and user services to the department, most recently working as User Service and Instruction Librarian at University of Alabama in Hunstville. She has a BA in English from Suffolk University and a MSLIS from Drexel University. She is currently working on a post-graduate certificate in Archives and Records Management at Simmons College where she discovered an interest in preservation management.

Please give her a warm welcome to Stanford Libraries! You can find her in Binding & Finishing, 4th floor, Lathrop.
