There is one regular self-service coin/card photocopy machine which is operated by coin, bill, a Stanford Card Plan or a vend card, located on the main floor in the Library. A microform reader/printer is available for use in the library.
There are three kiosk workstations available for accessing the catalog on the main floor of the library. An additional kiosk machine is available in the Map Mezzanine. Printouts made from these workstations are $.10 per page; a Stanford Card Plan or a Vend Card is necessary to use this service.
Specialized equipment available include:
- Self-help scanners.
- Large-scale black-and-white copier located on the Map Mezzanine.
- Large format 42" full color scanner, 600 dpi resolution. Please contact Jane Ingalls for an appointment to use the scanner. Stanford only, please.

Branner Earth Sciences Library and Map Collections, located on the second floor of the Mitchell Building, provides access for current faculty, students, and staff to geospatial data, digital map services, and geographic information systems (GIS). In addition, we provide ongoing GIS reference and research consultation. The library has seven Windows GIS Workstations equipped with GIS software and geospatial data.
