ADAM A searchable catalogue of 2546 Art, Design, Architecture & Media Internet resources that have been selected and catalogued by professional librarians for the benefit of the UK Higher Education community.
Art History Resources on the Web Maintained by Chris Witcombe, Professor of Art History at Sweet Briar College. Covers Prehistoric to 20th Century art, including photography.
Arts in Victorian Britain, The Created by George P. Landow, Professor of English and Art History, at Brown University, England. Includes survey of Victorian art institutions, and information on design, painting, sculpture, illustration, architecture, popular arts, art criticism, bibliographies and related web sites. 
ArtSource A compilation of networked resources on art and architecture. The content is diverse and includes pointers to resources around the net as well as original materials submitted by librarians, artists, and art historians. 
AskART Art-market-oriented resource that supplies data about thousands of visual artists, historical and contemporary figures alike, including relevant dealers and museums, surveys of recent auction prices, reproductions of significant works, and bibliography.
Colección Cisneros

This multimedia, interactive website showcases more than 160 works from the Latin American art collection of the Fundación Cisneros (Cisneros Foundation), a Caracas-based philanthropic organization. The core strength of the collection lies in abstract art produced in Venezuela, Brazil, Uruguay, and Argentina from the 1930s to the 1960s, yet the collection also includes objects of Colonial Latin American art, international decorative art, and nineteenth-century Latin American landscapes executed in the traveler-reporter tradition.

 Digital Librarian An enormous, selective site of "the best of the web" of image resources. Site is maintained by by Margaret Vail Anderson, a librarian in Cortland, New York

Digital Library for the Decorative Arts and Material Culture

Organized by the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Contains document facsimiles, primary source materials, image databases, virtual exhibits, listings of associations, libraries and archives, museums, and guides to the decorative arts, and more.
Fineart Forum: Resource Directory This directory is meant to serve as a resource and jumping-off place for people interested in art, and in the possible relationships between art and technology. Links to over 1,000 art resources including: websites, gophers, ftp sites, mailing lists, exhibitions, etc. Produced by Mississippi State University.
Getty Center Home Page Web site for the Getty Center including the Museum, Research Institute, Conservation Institute, ArtsEdNet, Leadership Institute, and Grant Program.
Impact Museums Home Page Provides access points for web pages produced by museums. They are organized by topic, museum location and regional content.
Joconde: Catalogue des Collections des Musées de France Presented by the French Ministry of Culture, this site offers virtual exhibits and images and information about objects from many significant museums in France. Includes information on the fields of archaeology, fine arts, decorative arts, ethnography, and more.
Librarian's Index to the Internet A searchable, annotated subject directory of more than 7,900 Internet resources selected and evaluated by librarians for their usefulness to users of public libraries. It's meant to be used by both librarians and non-librarians as a reliable and efficient guide to described and evaluated Internet resources. From the Berkeley Public Library.
Mark Harden's Artchive Contains images of popular artists' work. Organized by artists last name and genre.
Mother of All Art History Links Contains listing of Academic Art History Department web sites, online research resources, image collections, online exhibits, etc. Maintained by the Department of the History of Art at the University of Michigan.
New York Foundation for the Arts Web site for The New York Foundation for the Arts. This foundation supports contemporary artists of New York in the creation and sharing of their works, as well as providing the broader public with opportunities to experience and understand the arts. It supports programs in three major areas: Grants, Education, and Services and Technology.
Search Engine Watch Supplies much helpful information about web search engines, especially how to use them to find data efficiently. Section called "web searching tips" is particularly useful. Within it, be sure not to miss "Search engine math," which explains how to apply Boolean operators to search engine operation.
UCLA Art Web Sites Contains links to academic art libraries, meta-indexes, organizations, museums, image databases, research guides, reference sources, and sites by area, period and genre
Union List of Artist Names (ULAN), The ULAN is a directory of names and biographical information for two hundred thousand artists and architects. Produced by The Getty Research Institute for the History of Art and the Humanities.
University of Michigan Slide Distribution Offers slides of art objects from exhibitions, distinguished private collections, and the permanent collections of major American and European museums at an affordable price. Also includes major Architectural sites and sculptural monuments.
Vassar College Art Library: Virtual Resources Space Research guides for art and architecture by topic, historic periods and specific media. Includes: museum and gallery listings internationally and in the New York area, and links to information about artist resources, museum studies, arts education, organizations, libraries, book resources, and employment.
Voice of the Shuttle Home Page Web page for humanities research produced by the English Department of the University of Santa Barbara. Includes art, architecture and photography.
Yale Library Selected Internet Resources : Arts Covers architecture, arts of the book, film, fine arts, history of art, and theater studies research guides. Each discipline contains links to directories of resources, professional organizations, electronic discussion groups, exhibitions, archives, libraries and museums.
Yahoo! Arts:Institutes A meta-site covering institutes from a broad range of disciplines in the Humanities and Arts.
