Introduction

Comico.

This extensive run of the nineteenth-century Mexican graphic weekly contains illustrations by some of Mexico's best-known caricaturists of the time, including Villasana, who is considered to be the precursor to José Guadalupe Posada. This is a companion to La Orquesta and Mexico Grafico, the other two important graphic weeklies of the time, which are also held at Stanford.
