Introduction

Sde dge Bstan 'gyur.
New York: The Tibetan Buddhist -Resource Center, 2003.
11 CD-ROMs.

Bstan 'gyur, also known as Tanjur or Tengyur, is the second great collection of Tibetan Buddhist texts. The largest part consists of commentaries by Indian masters on the Buddha's word in the Bka' 'gyur. In addition, it covers such topics as grammar, logic, medicine, astrology, and the lives of saints. First carved on 64,512 woodblocks, this project, called Derge Tengyur, was completed in 1744. This edition was reprinted in 1981, and it is on this that the CD-ROM version is based.
