Gift of the Institute for Research on Women and Gender.

The Institute for Research on Women and Gender was founded at Stanford in 1974. Previously known as the Center for Research on Women and Gender (CROW), the institute's primary focus has been on interdisciplinary projects including research on women's health and conferences on divorce reform, adolescent pregnancy, androgyny, redefining family values, women's autobiographies, and West Coast feminism.
