Floor Plan

The Falconer Biology Library is located on the third floor of Herrin Hall and occupies this area plus a mezzanine. The library is partially wheelchair accessible. It is suggested that persons with limited mobility contact the library by phone during regular business hours or by email before visiting. An elevator to the 3 rd floor is located in the adjacent building, with a breezeway to the library building.

Located on the Main Floor are:

  • Reference, Administrative and Technical staff
  • Displays of New Books and New Journals (updated weekly)
  • Unbound Journals
  • Bound Journals, 1980+
  • Reference Collection of Books
  • Public-use computers
  • Color and black-&-white printers
  • Scanner
  • Public copy machines
  • Biology Department Copy Center
  • Large areas for quiet study at tables, individual carrels, and lounge chairs
  • Individual locked study rooms
  • A group study room
  • Shaded balconies with tables and chairs
  • Laptop connection to campus network
  • A wireless network for Stanford students, faculty, and staff available throughout the library (network registration required)
  • Exhibit case highlighting books from the library collection and Biology Department research

Located on the Mezzanine are:

  • Books
  • Pre-1980 Journals
  • Theses and Dissertations
  • Individual study tables
