Projekt Gutenberg: The largest collection of German literature on the Internet. Texts are organized for reading online with longer works divided into chapters. The entire database can be searched for words and phrases, but a search cannot be limited to a single work or author.

lyrikline: Collection of German-speaking poets gathered together in a sound archive. Each poet is represented by several poems, with audio recordings as well as portraits and bibliographies.
Bielefeld University Library, Germany: A collection of digitized texts, most of which are in German. English titles include Thomas More's Gilbert Stuart's A View of Society in Europe..., and The Works of William Shakespeare.
Bibliotheca Germanica: Varied collection, part of the Bibliotheca Augustana. Strongest for medieval texts, but also includes 18th and 19th century works

Mauthner-Gesellschaft Text Collections: Focused mostly on philosophy of language in a broad sense (Sprachkritik). In German only, including German tranlstations of non-German authors.

Sophie: A Digital Library of Early German Women's Writing: A large, ongoing project to digitize about 230 works by German-language women writing between 1740 and 1923.

19th Century German Stories: Growing selection of short narrative works in German from the late 18th to the end of the 19th centuries, featuring verified texts from documented editions and, whenever possible, English translations.

DadaOnline: Small collection of texts in German or English.

Kants Hauptwerke: Available though the Past Masters Collection (Stanford only); Also availabe on other sites: unrestricted access to Kant's Critique of Pure Reason as full, searchable text of Kemp's translation. The original Kritik der Reinen Vernunft can be found on projectgutenberg.de.

Franz Kafka Site: Include a collection of Kafka's (mainly short) works in full-text, in the original German, plus English, Spanish, Russion, Finnish, and Portuguese translations, as well as other Kafka related articles and links. The Nietzsche Page: One of the premiere online resources for information about Nietzsche, his life and writings. Includes 18 Complete Works in German , 4 Complete Works in English, 7831 Fragments from Nietzsche's Notebooks and Papers (in German), 10 Letters by Nietzsche (in English), a database of Nietzsche scholarship containing 1749 items, and one book reviews.

The Hölderlin Home Page: Award-winning site include a searchable full-text collection of Hölderlin's poems, letters, and essays (in German), as well as translations.

Kleist-Archiv: Site includes full-text works from Heinrich von Kleist, in German.

Paul Celan: Site includes bibliography, online forum, and Celan's poems and prose.

Electronic Text Collections in Western European Literature: Internet sources for literary texts in the western European languages other than English.
The Electronic Text Center at the University of Virginia: An on-line archive of thousands of SGML-encoded electronic texts in 12 languages (some of which are publicly available) with a library-based Center hardware and software suitable for the creation and analysis of text. German authors include Kafka, Hofmannsthal, Wittgenstein, Morgenstern.
Bibliomania: Bibliomania provides access to the full text of fiction, non-fiction, reference, and poetry works. The site also includes a growing collection of Shakespeare's work.

Blackmask Online: Blackmask Online provides access to a variety of full text books. Some titles may be downloaded as .zip files and/or Rocket e-book files.
