For on site visits at University of Texas, Austin, the library issues its own borrower's card to allow materials to be checked out.
Eligible Stanford and U.C. Berkeley patrons complete a RLCP Borrowing Request Form for each book or photocopy requested. To obtain information about UC Berkeley's holdings consult Oskicat online catalog. Oskicat Help is available. Information about Berkeley's holdings may also be obtained by calling the Doe Library Reference Desk at 510-643-9999.
To request material from University of Texas at Austin, one must register for
a RLCP
card before completing the RLCP
Borrowing Request Form. UT Austin patrons must register for the RLCP
card before submitting any request. It normally takes one or two working days,
after one applies, before the RLCP Card is valid for use.
Please note: RLCP is NOT an on-campus delivery service. Only request materials that are not available at your home institution.
If you have requested a book that is in use by another patron, you may ask
that the item be recalled and sent to you. Be sure to check the catalogs of
all three institutions in case the book is available without a recall.
Recalls may be requested by sending an e-mail to rlcp@library.Berkeley.edu with a citation of the book you want to recall.
Send an e-mail to cooperative@stanford.edu. Include a complete citation of the book you want to recall. It will be shipped
to your home library as soon as it becomes available.
Send an e-mail to RLCP@lib.utexas.edu providing a complete citation of the item.
UC Berkeley users should return books borrowed from Stanford or UT Austin
via the Book Return chute in the Circulation Desk of Doe Library. Stanford users
may return UC Berkeley or UT Austin materials via the Book Drop or the Loan
Desk at Green Library. UT Austin users must return RLCP books to the Inter-Library
Service office.
Please allow at least five working days before the due date to ensure timely arrival at the lending institution. Be sure the material is clearly marked "Return to" and the name of the destination.
You are responsible for materials until they have been returned to the library from which they were borrowed. Ask for a receipt when returning material to absolve you of responsibility for payment of an item if it becomes lost in the return mail.
Books borrowed through the RLCP program may usually be renewed at least once. Each institution has slightly different procedures. Please refer to the appropriate section below for specific instructions.
When a patron renews for the first time via UC Berkley's Oskicat, the patron is required to create a PIN number.
Send an e-mail to cooperative@stanford.edu. List each book by author, title, and barcode number. You will be notified of
the new due dates.
