Access & Circulation
The Jonsson Library is open to the public through any of the Green
Library entrances. The Jonsson Library stack collections are located
in the Bing Wing. US Federal Documents are on the Basement and West
1 stack levels. International, British and California Documents
are located on the West 2 stack level.
Circulation policies
Jonsson Library materials circulate from the Green Library Loan
Desk. The automated circulation system requires presentation of
a current, valid borrower's card for all circulation transactions.
Green Library's circulation policies apply.
Loan Periods
In general, Jonsson Library materials circulate according to standard
Green Library loan periods. However, the following materials are
non-circulating:
Congressional Record
Federal Register
Congressional Serial Set
California Legislative Journals
British Parliamentary Papers and Debates
United States Censuses
Materials must be returned to the Green Library Loan Desk or book
return drop.
Visitors
Individuals who wish to use materials in the Jonsson Library but
who are not affiliated with Stanford University or an institution
with which it has formal cooperative arrangements should register
at the Privileges Office during its regular business hours (Monday
through Friday, 8:00am to 5pm). During evenings and weekend hours,
visitors may sign in at one of the Green Library Portals and request
a registration form to complete at that time. Visitors should indicate
that they wish to use government documents materials.

Tours of the Jonsson Library, as well as group instruction and
