Access and Circulation
In order to borrow material for viewing or listening, users must
present a valid Stanford borrower's card. DVD's can be checked out
to anyone with a valid Stanford I.D. and are due before closing
on the day following check-out. Materials can be re-newed one time
online and in-person after that at the loan desk. The video collection
is non-circulating and must be used in-house, except to faculty,
instructors and their proxies. For further information see Media
Privileges.
Loan periods vary by a combination of format and user's status.
For media, overdue fines are charged at a rate of $1.50/day, to
a maximum of $10.50; they accrue around the clock. Reserve Media
materials accrue overdue fines at a rate of $1.00/hour to a maximum
of $30.00. Three days after the due date a bill for replacement
charges is sent and the borrower is blocked from further circulation
transactions. Media materials should be returned directly to
Media-Microtext loan; after hours they can be returned to the Green
loan desk. If the library is closed, the bookdrop designated "Media
and Reserve" can be used.
Media items can be renewed one time online, through My
Circulation Records.
Many microtexts may be borrowed for two weeks. Circulation of microtext
materials is available only to users with a valid Stanford borrower's
card.
