Music Technical Services

Title: Student Assistant

Level: II

Starting wage: click here to view current undergrad/hourly wage scale

Duties & Responsibilities: Complete processing of shelf-ready books; search for book copy in library databases according to MTS guidelines; perform push-button cataloging of books with LC copy; route other books to appropriate cataloger; maintain backlog shelves; other tasks & projects as assigned.

Experience: Required: Ability to learn quickly and reach a high production level while maintaining accuracy; reliability and independence in work habits; proficiency in Windows environment; good keyboarding skills. Desired: Previous library or other related experience strongly preferred; music subject background; language background (Germanic, Romance and/or Slavic)

Hours: 5 hours per week, continuing through the school year; summer employment available.
