[Amadis]
Amadis : tragedie mise en musique / par Monsieur de Lully ; coppié
par Deneloy.
1724.
1 manuscript vocal score (239 p.) ; 27 cm.
This elegant copy in short-score bears the coat of arms of "Madame
la Marquise de Pompadour," mistress to Louis XV, and provides
a fascinating reflection of court performances of the opera, in
which Pompadour herself performed. A gifted actress and musician,
she had many varied interests and amassed one of the largest private
