Ezio, with text by Metastasio, was first performed at the Teatro Eretenio in Venice, in 1789 and later revised and performed in 1792. The names of the castrato Luigi Marchesi, and contralto Giuseppe Grassini, appear at the head of the title. There are no printed editions of this opera dating from the 18th century.
