Translations of Vocal Music

Translations of vocal music can be found in editions or librettos
of the work; but sometimes the only translations available are in
the CD booklets or liner notes of a recording. Use Socrates to find
what translations are available in the Music Library

Translations in editions of the music
Try an Author & Title search, including both words from the
title and "english" in the Title box, and limit Format
to Scores.

and limit Format to Scores. This will find any score that includes

Translations in librettos
Opera librettos frequently contain translations. Try an Author
& Title search, include both words from the title, and "english"
in the Title box, and limit Format to Books.

Try an Author & Title search, with Keywords "english translation$",
and limit Format to Recordings. This will find any recording that
