- In December 1997, the Administrative Council of the European Patent Organisation
decided that the European Patent Organisation will offer Patent Information on
Internet from about mid 1998 as a way of bolstering the process of innovation
in Europe. The project called DIPS (Distributed Internet Patent Services) is
in this news release.

Lemelson and his wife, Dorothy, established the Lemelson-MIT Awards Program at
