The UNIX shell is a great tool for automating tasks. This workshop will walk you through an example of how to divide up a particular task into its component parts, use shell programs to complete those individual tasks, string together those individual tasks, and then run the entire workflow using a single command.
This is not a hands-on workshop, but the files used in the workshop will be made available so that you can attempt to duplicate this later on your own.
This workshop is only for individuals affiliated with Stanford University (SUNet ID required).
