Stanford Libraries' Assistant University Archivist Josh Schneider has been appointed to the American Archivist Editorial Board. The Society of American Archivists (SAA) promotes the value and diversity of archives and archivists. The SAA are the preeminent source of professional resources and the principal communication hub for American archivists.

The David Rumsey Map Center is a unique collections-based resource designed to provide access to cartographic information in all of its forms from paper to digital. In addition to housing a large collection of rare atlases and maps, it is furnished with high-resolution screens equipped with interactive tools for engaging with the digital images.

The MIT Press has published a new collection of essays in game studies, Debugging Game History: A Critical Lexicon, co-edited by  Henry Lowood, Curator for the History of Science & Technology and Film & Media Studies.

You are cordially invited to join the Art staff for a tour of the new Bowes Art & Architecture Library in the McMurtry Art & Art History building. This building is the home of both the Library and the Department of Art and Art History, and serves as an interdisciplinary hub for the arts at Stanford. In addition to the Bowes Library, the McMurtry building also includes art studios, media arts studios, screening spaces, film editing rooms, faculty offices, lounges, and exhibition spaces. The building opened for classes in Fall 2015.
