SUL Rosette

From the Stanford Report, “Stanford doctoral candidate Adrienne Rose Johnson says contemporary diet advice idealizes lifestyles of the past in ways that contribute to global health problems. Johnson's study is the first academic analysis of diet literature.”  In 2013, Johnson’s essay entitled "Collecting the Commonplace: The Promises of American Diet Literature" was awarded one of the Byra J. and William P. Wreden Prizes for Collecting Books and Related Materials, administered by the Stanford Libraries.

Amanda Whitmire

Dr. Amanda Whitmire has assumed the role of Head of Miller Library at the Hopkins Marine Station, Stanford’s research outpost on the coast at Pacific Grove, California. Amanda replaces Dr. Joseph Wible (Joe) who retired after over three decades of service with Stanford Libraries.
