SUL Rosette

Stanford University has been recognized as a research entity by the European Commission, and faculty, staff, and PhD students may now request access to Eurostat microdata. Microdata, which consists of sets of records containing information on individual respondents or business entities, is considered sensitive, and is made accessible only to eligible researchers who agree to maintain the security of the material. Now that Stanford is recognized as an eligible research entity, faculty, staff, and PhD students (only) can submit a research proposal and apply for access.

Finding geospatial data at Stanford has never been easier.

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and spatial analysis techniques, along with the maps and data they require, are all growing in importance for a wide variety of disciplines: not only traditionally GIS-focused fields like environmental sciences, architecture, and urban planning, but also business, political science, public health, history, sociology, and many other fields.
