ReMix - November 2017 issue

Thanks-for-Giving

In this season of giving thanks, we are especially grateful to all those who have donated collections to Stanford Libraries over the years. Your treasured books, papers, archives, and so many other materials immeasurably enrich our holdings by providing valuable primary source materials for our patrons to discover.

Facing the World

Are you a typophile? A lover of design and the printed word? Are you drawn to world cultures and the diversity of human languages, past and present? Facing the World: Type Design in Global Perspective, on view in the Green Library Bing Wing, is a guided tour to more than five centuries of type design beyond the Latin alphabet. Join us for the opening reception on Friday, December 1 at 4:00 pm.

From the Standard Hour collection

The rich sounds of early symphonic music will soon be available for investigation and discovery at Stanford Libraries. The Standard Hour collection, which includes 608 lacquer discs and 76 tapes of the weekly radio broadcast program, was selected by the Council on Library and Information Resources as a recipient of their Recordings at Risk grant program.
