IIIF, DMS, Mirador... these names and acronyms are frustratingly opaque. To start unravelling the many related threads of interoperability efforts within SUL, Ben Albritton will lead a discussion based on the activities of the Digital Manuscript Program, but with an eye to applicability in other content areas. What tools do we support, what does interoperability mean for SUL content, and what can we expect in the year ahead? These questions, and more, will drive a tour of current and emerging activities.

We look forward to seeing everyone there!

IT Open House 2015 logo

This year's IT Open House, "What's in IT for U?", will be held October 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Tresidder Oak Lounge and Meeting Rooms.

This annual event is a chance for Stanford University faculty, staff, and students to meet face-to-face under one roof with people who provide and support Stanford's IT infrastructure and services. Also at hand are many of the university's key third-party vendors and industry partners, who also help sponsor the event.

Exhibit and Events September calendar image

Have you visited the SUL Events and exhibits web page lately? The Libraries have many events scheduled now through the coming months, including many workshops designed for students, faculty and staff. Plan to attend the events yourself, and feel free to spread the word. Events scheduled for today, September 30th, include Finding Articles When All Else Fails and xSearch Workshop.

A Chrome tab extension has been developed by DLSS' own Jack Reed, so now you can view the current date and time with a map from the David Rumsey Map Collection.

Random maps from the Rumsey Collection will be pulled in every time you open a new tab. A great way for anyone to explore the collection!
