Because copyright is so deeply entwined with what we do here at Stanford, it is important that everyone in our community have a working understanding of the laws and regulations under which we all must operate. We strongly encourage you to read through this document again this year, to refresh your memory, and perhaps notice something that you missed in past years.

The Stanford Digital Repository has a new web site: http://library.stanford.edu/research/stanford-digital-repository

The SDR team is excited to be using the new Drupal microsite format. It enables us to easily provide a whole lot more information about SDR services to the growing number of folks around Stanford seeking repository services for their scholarly content!

The Dish reported that Elizabeth Bernhardt, a professor of German studies at Stanford and director of the Stanford Language Center, is the recipient of the 2014 Distinguished Service to the Profession Award from the Association of Departments of Foreign Languages (ADFL).

Kindred Britain is a Stanford Libraries-based project in digital humanities. In “Small Town Noir, and Four Other Astonishing Digital History Sites We Loved in 2013” (The Vault, the history blog of Slate), Rebecca Onion stated: “The Kindred Britain project takes records of 30,000 notable people of British descent, living across 1,500 years of history, and lets you visualize how they’re related—by blood, by shared historical time, or by geography.
