Librarian & Head, Access Services and Auxiliary Libraries
Rebecca's role in the library
I am the Head of Stanford University Libraries' Access Services Department. My group is comprised 1 outstanding Assistant Head of Access Services, an excellent team of managers and supervisors, a great group of 40 staff members, plus excellent hourly and student staff.
The units of our department include:
- Circulation & Library Privileges
- Media & Microtext Center (large DVD, game and microfilm collection)
- Green Library Stacks (3 million volumes)
- Stanford Auxiliary Library 1&2, an on-campus branch with a small reading room, 1 million volumes on compact shelving, and an active paging program
- Stanford Auxiliary Library 3 (SAL3), a high-density cold storage preservation facility in Livermore for 2.8 million items with active accessioning and delivery program to campus
- Stanford Auxiliary Library - Newark (active newspaper paging program)
- Collection Transfers & Google Books Library Partnership
I am also an active member of several Stanford groups:
- Stanford Community Emergency Response Team (earthquake and disaster response)
- Campus Card Advisory Group
- Online Experience Group (web site redesign team for SUL)
