| Data Services: Reference Library
The Stanford University Libraries have acquired a large collection of
datasets and printed codebooks from many sources that can be searched
in Socrates.
You should limit your search to "electronic resources" records.
Although many datasets now come with only electronic format codebooks,
the Socrates "Long" record will indicate if SSDS has a print
copy of a dataset's codebook, as well as its location and call number.
Printed codebooks located in the Green Library with a STACKS
location designation can be checked out. Codebooks located in the Green
Library with the SSRC-SSDS location designation are non-circulating
and are shelved in the The Velma Denning Room.
Note: To request datasets cataloged in Socrates, click
on the link "Request this dataset [Stanford users only]" at
the bottom of the "Long" record. Fill out the form and submit
it. You will need a SUNet ID to
make this request. In general, data requests will be available within
one working day. To find out how to access your data once it is available,
see
Getting and Using Data on SSDS Disk Space
