Configuring Firefox 6.x/7.x on Windows for off-campus access

1. Firefox 7.x: Click on the Firefox menu tab and then click Options.
   Firefox 6.x: Click Options from the Tools menu.
2. Click the Advanced icon and then click on the Network tab.
3. In the Connection area, click Settings to bring up the Connection Settings window.
4. Select Automatic proxy configuration URL.
5. Enter this URL in the box below.  (This URL must be copied exactly with no spaces):
   

   http://www-sul.stanford.edu/apcproxy/suproxy.pac

6. Click OK, then close all configuration windows.

Note about on-campus access

With your browser configured as described above, you will be prompted for your SUNet ID and password each time you access a licensed resource, even when you are on campus. If you would prefer to avoid this, revert your browser settings as follows:

1. Return to the Connection Settings window as described above
2. Select Use System Proxy Settings.
3. Click OK, then close all configuration windows.
