Photography in SUL buildings

To protect our patrons' privacy and ensure their quiet enjoyment of our library spaces, photography is prohibited within library buidings without the express written permission of the University Librarian. 

If you wish to take photographs or video in the library, please complete the request form below, and submit it to the University Librarian at university-librarian@stanford.edu. You can also submit completed request forms in room 101 of Green Library. Note that review of your request may take several days, so please plan ahead.  

Request for permission to photograph

Note that this request is for permission to photograph ONLY, and does not impact copyright or provide license to use or display any library materials. You must separately request permission to use or republish collections or materials under copyright. You must also separately request releases from any individuals you wish to film or photograph. A model release is provided here. SUL requires that you submit releases in advance of your shoot.
