Tours

Green Library tours

Green Library is the largest library on campus, and is home to the main humanities and social sciences collection, the Information Center, the Media & Microtext Center, Special Collections and University Archives, and many other central library services and resources.

New students and their parents

The Information Center invites new students and their parents to tour Green, explore its world class library collections, and find out how the library can support students' research needs. All tours will last one hour, starting with a physical tour and ending with a demo of online resources. Half-hour tours of Academic Computing Services are offered immediately afterward. Tours will begin at the Green Library East entrance (across from Meyer Library) on the following days and times:

  • Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 2 pm
  • Thursday, Sept. 20 at 2 pm
  • Friday, Sept. 21 at 10 am

New graduate students

Come to Green Library for an online demo of the amazing array of resources, as well as a librarian-led tour of the building. Each demo/tour will last an hour. Tours will begin at the Green Library East entrance (across from Meyer Library) on the following days and times:

  • Monday, Sept. 17 at 3 pm and 4 pm
  • Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 10 am and 3 pm
  • Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 3 pm

Orientation tours of branch libraries

Note that several of the subject-specific branch libraries--Art & Architecture, Chemical & Chemical Engineering, Engineering, Math & Statistics, and Music--offer scheduled orientation tours as well.
