Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD)
Formerly the Intergovernmental Authority on Drought and Development (IGADD) which was created in 1986 by Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Sudan and Uganda to co-ordinate development in the Horn of Africa. The State of Eritrea became the seventh member of IGADD in September 1993 after its independence. Has press releases. Based in Djibouti. http://igad.int/

Formerly called Army Area Handbooks long used as basic reference sources. Information on the history, society, economy, politics, national security of each country. Covers Angola, Chad, Ethiopia, Ghana, Indian Ocean, Ivory Coast, Mauritania, Nigeria, Somalia, Sudan, Uganda, Zaire. Parts of the handbooks not included in the online edition are the bibliographies, tables, maps, photos; these will be added later.
