Covers early 1700s to the early 1800s. The Brown brothers were among the first molasses and sugar merchants from Providence to engage in the slave trade. However a son of one of the Brown brothers becaume a Quaker and a leader in the anti-slavery movement.
Part 2 recounts the murder of diseased captives, the Cuban slave trade, slave ship revolts, the financial aspects and risk factors involved in the trade, etc.
