The publication includes articles written by the author in exile, as well as letters from various archival collections. The articles were published in the 1930s to the 1960s in rare emigrant newspapers and magazines, and are now published for the first time in Russia. Included is extensive correspondence between A.G. Efimov with his former colleague, Lieutenant BB Filimonov, from the archives of the Museum of Russian Culture in San Francisco. Most of the book is devoted to the events of the last stage of the White struggle in Primorye, Khabarovsk, including the campaign of winter of 1921-1922. The text is supplemented by numerous rare documents and photographs taken from the archive of the author's son, A.A. Efimov, the descendants of some other emigres in the United States, and the Museum of Russian Culture in San Francisco
