This book focuses on the paintings and drawings of this artist. Three extensive essays explore in depth the development of Hodgkins's artistic practice. She is seen experimenting in a variety of mediums and styles, and an artist working towards her late phase, at its most apparent in her landscapes. Forty full-page colour reproductions each with a detailed description, display Hodgkins's art, her use of colour and handling of subject matter.
