Detectors [electronic resource].
Los Alamos, N.M. : Los Alamos National Laboratory ; Oak Ridge, Tenn. : distributed by the Office of Scientific and Technical Information, U.S. Dept. of Energy, 2002The apparatus and method provide techniques through which both alpha and beta emission determinations can be made simultaneously using a simple detector structure. The technique uses a beta detector covered in an electrically conducting material, the electrically conducting material discharging ions generated by alpha emissions, and as a consequence providing a measure of those alpha emissions. The technique also offers improved mountings for alpha detectors and other forms of detectors against vibration and the consequential effects vibration has on measurement accuracy.

Emission detectors
Bolozdynya, Alexander I.New Jersey : World Scientific, ©2010.After decades of research and development, emission detectors have recently become the most successful instrumentation used in modern fundamental experiments searching for cold dark matter, and are also considered for neutrino coherent scattering and magnetic momentum neutrino measurement. This book is the first monograph exclusively dedicated to emission detectors. Properties of two-phase working media based on noble gases, saturated hydrocarbon, ion crystals and semiconductors are reviewed.

Infrared detectors
Rogalski, AntoniAmsterdam : Gordon and Breach, 2000.Infrared Detectors provides comprehensive coverage of this important aspect of infrared technology, including details of recent research efforts directed toward improving the performance of single element devices, large electronically scanned arrays, and higher operating temperatures. Discussions include HgCdTe detectors, Schottky barrier photoemissive devices, silicon, germanium, and InSb detectors, and quantum well infrared photodetectors. The author also considers IR thermal detectors, including details on phyroelectric detectors, micromachined silicon bolometers, and high Tc superconductor detectors.
