Duncan, Chris[California] : Chris Duncan, [2013]"A sound recording made from a plaster cast of a 23" ride cymbal with piezo mic embedded in it and a looping station. For this experiment, the cymbal stand hole was covered, the cymbal flipped over and used as a mold for the plaster. The shape of the object is the negative space of the cymbal . . . the piece is an exercise in chance to see and hear what occurs with an open loop and a pair of mallets striking the plaster form" --on insert.
