Uzbek sluicing-like constructions and clefts
Gribanova, Vera[ca. 2009 - 2011]There are two datasets here, both involving Uzbek grammaticality judgments for different types of sluicing-like constructions and cleft sentences. The survey file (SLC-cleft) records the responses 12 of 14 total participants. 10 of the 12 listed speakers were located in Uzbekistan at the time of data collection. Note the co-variation w.r.t. accusative case marking on pivots of copular and cleft sentences, as well as remnants of sluicing-like constructions. The file called "clefts" records the judgments of one speaker only. These findings, and the analysis, are reported in the following paper: Gribanova, Vera. Copular clauses, clefts, and putative sluicing in Uzbek. Language 89(4): 830–882. [http://muse.jhu.edu/article/532706]
