Earth Engine and R code associated with article "Management intensification maintains wood production over multiple harvests in tropical Eucalyptus plantations", Ecological Applications, 2019
McMahon, Devin E.February 2019This item contains R and Earth Engine scripts and examples of output data. The Earth Engine scripts classify Eucalyptus plantations and surrounding native vegetation in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, based on Landsat surface reflectance images ingested into the Earth Engine platform and manually delineated training polygons, and segment these vegetation types into distinct stands and patches. Further scripts export time series of the Near Infrared from Vegetation index (NIRv) for each plantation stand and native vegetation patch. R scripts segment each plantation stand's time series into harvest cycles (rotations) and estimate wood production in each rotation. Scripts to produce the figures in the article are also included.
