  1. Bench 16 panel 10

Breast tumor samples ; I do both cancer surgery and lab research—my clinical practice informs my laboratory investigations ; In the early 90s, I started freezing breast tumors and putting them in a bank. David Botstein approached me about using Pat Brown's new microarray technology to explore gene expression in solid tumors for the first time. As I already had stored tumor samples, I worked with David, Pat, and Norwegian colleagues in a collaborative group to study breast cancer. ; We developed a molecular taxonomy of breast cancer, creating a classification system ; We made our database universally available and others followed our lead, creating many more online databases. This data is now used for exploring cancer biology, predicting drug sensitivities, and classifying patients for clinical trials. Stefanie Jeffrey ; We learned that looking at combinations of genes was much more powerful than looking at single genes or single biomarkers alone.

  2. Ocular and adnexal lymphoma

    Heidelberg : Springer, [2013?]

This book a conjoint effort of ocular oncologists, general oncologists, and pathologists is a comprehensive source of authoritative information on the subject of ocular and adnexal lymphoma. It covers all aspects, including clinical features, classification, epidemiology, diagnostic evaluation, biopsy techniques, histology and molecular pathology, staging procedures, and treatment methods. Detailed information is provided on primary vitreoretinal and adnexal lymphomas and chapters are also included on rare variants such as T cell lymphoma and reactive lymphoid hyperplasia of the ocular adnexa. The emphasis throughout is on easy readability, and the layout ensures rapid retrieval of information. In order to convey fundamental concepts, numerous tables, clinical photographs, histopathologic microphotographs, and imaging studies (fluorescein and indocyanine angiograms, ultrasonograms, CT scans, and MR images) are included.
