Reims manuscripts collection, 1576-1816
Consists of documents, mostly financial, spanning the period 1576 to 1816 written in or around Reims, France. Four of the documents are undated: a note about bills of exchange, the results of an estate sale written on a printed funeral announcement for Mde Cat [tear], épouse de [tear] fleuriste, and two research notes, apparently 20th century. The oldest dated piece is 16th century vellum with a Latin text conferring pontifical benefits on Nicholas Quiziot; two 17th century pieces are dated 1661 & 1675; the 21 18th century pieces range from 1708 to 1798; the 1816 item is a certified copy of an extract from the civil register, the birth record of Marie Magdelaine Lacuisse, dated 13 vendemaire an 3. Notable among the 18th century items is a nominal "rolle et repartition de la taille " for Attigny, élection de Reims, 1745.
