  2. A inusitada coleção de Sylvio Perlstein

Rio de Janeiro : Aprazível Edições, 2014.

Sylvio Perlstein from an early age personally accompanied young artists that half a century later became icons of a generation: Rauschenberg, Sol LeWitt, Jasper Johns and others. From his very own vision of art, he acquired what the art market didn't bet on. His accurate intuition led him to collect during 50 years what seemed unusual and the best of each vanguard in the 20th century art. His collection resulted thereby. "The Unusual collection of Sylvio Pearlstein" is a first-time exhibition in Brazil of his collection and arrives at the MASP after two months in Rio de Janeiro. In total, around 1,000 works comprise his collection, of which approximately 150 were selected by the Trustees Teixeira Coelho, of MASP, Luiz Camillo Osorio, of MAM-Rio, and Leonel Kaz, who masterminded the project. Designed so that the visitor can explore freely, the exhibition is divided into sections: Dada/Surrealism; Vintage Photo; New Realism/Pop Art; American Painting; Minimal Art; Concept Art/Land Art/Arte Povera. Bringing this collection to MAM is to share a little of half a century of intimate coexistence of Sylvio Perlstein with seminal works of art.
