This week we celebrate the release of the John Marcum Papers with daily posts highlighting various aspects of this Africanist scholar's collection. Today we present various material from Series 22. South Africa.

Flier for a 1964 appearance by anti-apartheid activist and filmmaker Nana Mahomo. Mahomo's U.S. lecture tour was arranged by Marcum. Active in the Pan Africanist Congress (PAC), Mahomo had left South Africa in March 1960. He was Marcum's best man when he married his wife Gwendolyn in Menlo Park.
