The Tom Law San Francisco Bay Area Punk and Rock Handbill and Poster Collection was recently acquired and is housed in Special Collections, Green Library. It contains approximately 1400 original posters of Punk Rock Band performances in the San Francisco Bay area. You can find a description and information about use of the collection in the collection's catalog citation.

Law lived in San Francisco from 1983-86, first in the Tenderloin and then on Haight Street and liked to pass his time collecting posters from various clubs. He removed the posters and preserved them for his own enjoyment. The vast majority of the posters are photocopies on standard 8 ½ x 11 inch paper. The collection contains posters from at least 29 clubs including The Stone, Wolfgang’s, Mabuhay Gardens, Graffiti, Oasis, Hotel Utah, Club Foot, The Farm, and the Tool & Die Club. Over 100 bands are documented including Terra Incognita, Wages of Sin, The Vandals, Agent Orange, Hüsker Dü, Vestal Virgins, Dead Kennedys, The Dicks, 10,000 Maniacs, Butthole Surfers, Snotgreensea, Catheads, and Morticia.
