Bon Voyage, Sarah!
After more than 10 years with the Stanford Libraries, on July 20, 2018, Sarah Lester said goodbye to friends and colleagues and prepared for her new role as the Librarian for the College of Engineering at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. During her time at Stanford, Sarah made incredible contributions to the Terman Engineering Library and the wider Stanford community. At various points, Sarah served as the liaison to several departments in the School of Engineering, including Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Science. Sarah spearheaded an effort to digitize and make available the student projects created as part of ME310, "Design Innovation," and through her tireless work, there is a collection of class projects archived and accessible through the Stanford Digital Repository. Sarah also played an instrumental role in shaping the development of the Libraries' website, and her expertise in user design and experience made a lasting impact on many of the platforms and services that Stanford Libraries currently employs. A highly-valued colleague, Sarah contributed to digitization projects, instructional outreach, and research support, and she is dearly missed by us all.
We wish Sarah and her family all the best in San Luis Obispo and are excited to see what wonderful things she will do next!
