“In the spirit of encouraging dialogue and civic participation, we hope all eligible voters in the Stanford community will register to vote this fall. Stanford in Government and the Haas Center for Public Service are leading the Stanford Votes project."

~Notes from the Quad, September 24, 2018

Fall Quarter and Midterm Election Season 2018 are upon us.  This year centers, departments, student services, student groups,  faculty, and staff across campus are helping students get registered and get out the vote. The Haas Center for Public Service has created the website, which includes information on voter registration and election events taking place on campus.

Student are encouraged to register to vote using the platform. This system also helps secure absentee ballots and reminders from the state of the student’s choice. Faculty, staff, and spouses can also register through this system. For those registering on campus, student residences are part of a drop down menu which makes registering easy.

The Stanford Libraries are lending support to this effort as well. Look for flyers and stickers at various libraries and be sure to use the guide to voter information and education resource. It’s choc full of nonpartisan, authoritative resources to help you get registered and request absentee ballots; find background information on candidates, propositions, ballot measures, and campaign finance. There are resources that will even help answer questions like “does where I register to vote affect my federal financial aid?” Resources are available for all fifty states.

Now, don't forget to Vote!!
