Samantha Koutsoftas
I am pleased to announce the hiring of Samantha Koutsoftas for the Position of Operations Coordinator and Document Delivery Specialist.

Samantha started on April 29, 2019 and will be primarily responsible for the scanning operation as SAL3, as well as taking on some administrative and supervisory responsibility.

A few facts about Samantha

Samantha grew up in Glendora, CA. She first fell in love with books in the fifth grade when she read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Once she graduated from Glendora High School, she moved to Rancho Cucamonga to attend the local junior college and began to work at Barnes & Noble Booksellers. She eventually transferred to San Francisco State University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s in English Literature. After graduation, she moved back down to Southern California and began to move up in Barnes & Noble quickly, being promoted to Children’s Lead then eventually to Receiving Manager. During her time at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, she eventually came to the realization that while she love working with books and interacting with fellow book lovers, retail was not where she wanted to spend her life. As a result, Samantha applied to San Jose State University’s MLIS program. In 2017, she decided to leave Barnes & Noble and move back to the Bay Area to be closer to family. This also allowed her to focus on her masters full-time while working part-time as an administrative assistant. Samantha is a huge book lover and a giant nerd when it comes to anything Harry Potter and Disney; she says her patronus is Mickey Mouse, after all. Samantha is, "so excited to start her new career and be part of the Stanford team."
